Hello, my name is Emily Pennington. I’m a photographer and writer living in Iowa. I’m an Iowa native and University of Iowa alum that is proud to call Iowa home. I’m a ukulele player and collector, a traveler, and a maker.

My interests are eclectic and the topics I cover here are…scattered at best. These things include historical photography, supporting Iowan businesses, antique wood working, rearticulating animal skeletons, vintage taxidermy, riding and repairing antique bicycles, exploring abandoned places, writing, cemetery indexing, and websleuthing!

I hope some of my posts can be helpful to you.

Just bought a black/white (or serpia) print of James Arthur woman and man sitting at a fireplace. There is a spinning wheel in the photo. I saw it online where it was colored in. Photo reads Copyright 1905 James Arthur.
